Overall, Bill was an excellent resource for me and I would recommend his services to anyone. I wish we had more time together and would love to work with him again in the future.”
“Bill has the ability to really understand/summarize the situations I present (which is difficult since it's a different business) and then both draw-out and guide effective solutions.”
“I was able to get my plan in motion. I kept putting it off, but Bill got me to move it forward.”
“Bill has been able to listen and understand my biggest area of opportunities and then be able to provide me a focus and framework to address these opportunities effectively.”
Bill Cawley's Professional Background
My professional career in corporate America has spanned 16 years. My career began as an entry level customer service representative led to working directly for the Chairman and CEO of MBNA America, then a Fortune 500 company and then being downsized out of a job as a result of an acquisition by Bank of America. I started in entry level jobs, and over the following years rose to ever greater levels of responsibilities and management positions. During my professional career I have held multiple senior management positions at two 500 Fortune Companies and managed teams as small as three people and as large as 350 people.
It does not matter whether your career path looks like mine or not what is important is that during my career I have experienced the ups and downs of working in the real world. I know the pride in delivering a project on time and under budget, of doing more with less, presenting a proposal and seeing it approved by management, managing a difficult personnel situation deftly. I also know the frustration of dealing with corporate bureaucracy, having my budget cut, working for difficult managers, struggling with work life balance are just a few of my professional experiences.
In 2007 I began my own consulting company, Bill Cawley Consulting, to share my professional and personal experiences to help individuals and businesses reach peak performance. I have also received my Registered Corporate Coach certification through the World Associations of Business Coaches.
I have extensive management experience in these core competencies but not limited to;
- People and performance management
- Change management
- Project management
- Strategic planning
- Budget and expense management
- Corporate communication
- Organizational transition
My professional experience also extends to more individualized, soft skill development which includes but not limited to;
- Career guidance
- Leadership development
- Inter-personal skills
- Communication skills
- Managing up
- Work-life balance
During my 16 years in corporate America, I have been responsible for developing thousands of people. I've enjoyed seeing their careers flourish and watching them achieve many of their professional and personal goals. I am very confident I can do the same for you!

A Very Important Free Benefit
I have learned numerous invaluable lessons since my accident in 1992. I'll never forget what happened that day, when I was only 24 years old. The consequences of a simple dive off a dock on the New Jersey shore meant that my life would never be the same again. In the three seconds it took to fall, my life changed forever. When I hit the side of the dock, I instantly broke my neck. Within a couple of weeks, doctors told me that I was a quadriplegic with no hope of every walking again. They told me that for the rest of my life I would be paralyzed from the chest down with no sensation, function or movement below my chest. They said I would need an electric wheelchair and an aide with me to dress and feed me every day of my life, because my arms would be so weak and my hands so severely impaired. The doctors told me it would be impossible for me to live an independent life.
I didn't blindly follow what the doctors and medical experts told me, when it came to creating my future. As a result, only a year after my accident I was living independently and getting ready to go back to work full-time. Since then, I have gone on to live the same life I had always imagined, long before that fateful day in 1992. I have had a successful professional career at two Fortune 500 companies, begun my own consulting business, and have pursued my passion of motivational speaking, I am married and busy raising three small children, I've run two non-profit foundations (one of which I created) and keep up a very busy social life seeing family and friends all over the country.
The lessons have not only helped me in my own professional career and in my personal life, but they've also equipped me to bring out the best in others in my work as a business coach. When people are struggling in their personal lives, more than likely their work will suffer. I can and have helped people deal with personal issues so they can achieve their professional goals.
