All five messages are themes that I currently see as building blocks in life and work.

Sometimes things don’t go as expected, overcoming those challenges is important and I think he provide great examples.

He did a great job tying in his challenges to personal and work challenges.

I could for see many examples Bill talked about but haven’t experienced them yet.

Bill did a wonderful job!  I have heard him speak many years ago and I was still fully engaged.

The way he spoke you were there with him and if he can do it so can we- like to have my staff hear it.

It was shocking at first and then he took you along on the path with him

I was captivated by the inspirational story.

Penn State University Small School of Business

I was able to relate the leadership examples to my own challenges as a leader. Everything that Bill covered were things that I have encountered in all of my leadership positions and some of them are definitely obstacles that I and other student leaders experience.

Bill offered advice with each leadership challenge. He came straight out and said why it was wrong, how do you go about avoiding it, and how do you successfully be a good leader.

Even with his accident, Bill has maintained a positive outlook on life and on being a successful business leader.  Even though he did not discuss his obstacles to maintaining his business career after his accident you could see from the way he talked that he makes the best of what he has and is successful.

We were all there to further our leadership capabilities, and Bill’s speech gave us more tools in our bag to better lead our teams and organizations.

Examples were great, involved many relevant examples for students.  Also, used a variety of examples so that more people could relate to his talk.

It was obvious that Bill has had great experience in public speaking.  He spoke at a nice tone and with good examples.

A lot of the situations that Bill talked about are things that I can see relating to my internship this summer and my future here at Penn State.

Bill appeared comfortable with the material because he seemed to have experience with it. Also, even though Bill did not know the majority of the audience he seemed very comfortable speaking to us.

Bill did a great job. I know everyone at my table was thoroughly impressed.

Bill appeared very comfortable with the material and audience.  He has had numerous leadership experiences that he was able to draw from and use as examples.

The whole speech was useful because it is important for students to be reminded of how to be a successful leader.

All the tasks were interesting and taught me something new, or helped me to understand something better.  They were all helpful.
